Director's Message

Dear Parents,
Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! I'm excited to have joined the Woodlake Unified School District (W.U.S.D.) team as the Director of Educational Options Program (W.E.O.P.). I'm an educator that is passionate about education. I enjoy collaborating with others toward common goals. I believe that if stakeholders work together we can assist students in doing their own personal best in academics, character development, socio-emotional wellness, health, and anything that students strive towards.

I've TK - 12th grade and Adult Ed. experience. I've worked in various positions in education including Principal, Assistant Principal, Teacher, Instructional Aide, and Tutor. I've obtained a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.), Master of Education (M.Ed.), and Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree. I like to keep up to date on current practices, research, and professional development. I also enjoy spending time with family, hiking, bicycling, traveling, reading, and learning new things.

Woodlake Educational Options Programs (W.E.O.P.) offers both in person and online courses to help support our students and differentiated learning opportunities. We also promote youth service learning / community service and collaborate with community partners including Boys & Girls Club, Kiwanis International, Sequoia Youth Services, Central Valley Recovery Services, Woodlake Police Department, Woodlake Fire Department, among other partners. We have a great team at W.E.O.P. and work together on supporting students. We offer an engaging learning environment for students. We will be offering multiple parent engagement opportunities which includes School Site Council (S.S.C.), Back To School Night (B.T.S.N.), among other opportunities. We look forward to working with you, students, staff, and community throughout the school year.

Sincerely,

Dr. Mendez, Director

Woodlake Educational Options Program (W.E.O.P.)
